Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for information.
A senior political figure stated the attack left him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
